Beginning with a photograph of myself, this work evolved through processes of distortion, fragmentation, and digital manipulation. Working with noise, compression artifacts, and abstracted data, I became interested in the threshold between presence and disappearance.
How much can be lost before something becomes unrecognizable, and what traces remain.
Noise became material. Distortion became a language. What emerged was less a self-portrait and more an experiment in signal and noise. A figure gradually dissolving, yet never entirely disappearing.
Through this work, I found myself rediscovering something I hadn’t engaged with deeply in years: the joy of making.
Part of an ongoing series of small experiments, Listening Again is an attempt to externalize the ideas, questions, and curiosities that live within me. Not as finished pieces, but as fragments of my mind.
